Guilty Gear: Strive Opens Closed Beta Sign-Ups for PS4

Arc System Works announced that players can register for the Guilty Gear: Strive closed beta now at the game’s official website.

The closed beta test is scheduled to take place on April 16 through April 19 for its release later this year on PlayStation 4. During the beta, players will be able to play as seven characters, Sol, Ky, May, Axl, Chip, Potemkin, and  Faust. The beta will also include a new character screen and an in-game user interface.

Additionally, the release version of Guilty Gear: Strive will use rollback net code for online play. While this is still in development, they hope to see how users use it during online play in the beta.

Players must have a PS4 connected to a PSN account, but a PS Plus account is not required. Players will be notified if they got in by April 12.

Guilty Gear was initially released in 1998 as a 2D fighting game for hardcore fans of the genre. The series continued this approach in its design as well as excelling in creating a pretty metal and upbeat soundtrack for every title.

Currently, the newest title in the series was released in 2017 as Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2, which introduced two new playable characters and added a rebalancing update to the rest of the roster. Additionally, the updated game also released on PC and console simultaneously, which was a first for the series.

The newest characters to be added to the game were Chipp and Potemkin. The trailer also reveals a new character, Faust. In case you missed it, check out the game’s reveal trailer as well as May’s character trailer and Axl’s.
