Guacamelee! 2 Body Slams onto Xbox One Later This Month; Includes Xbox Play Anywhere Support

DrinkBox Studios loves to keep on giving. Today, the indie developer announced that Guacameelee! 2 is smashing its way to Xbox One on January 18 — and both the “Three Enemigos” and “Proving Grounds” DLC packs will be made available at launch. For those that want to save a bit of money (perhaps to buy some avocados to make guacamole?), you can pre-order the game now on the Xbox Marketplace to get a 20% discount.

Having shared back in October that DrinkBox was planning to release the Xbox One version of Guacameelee! 2 in January 2019, it’s nice to know that the developer follows through with their plans (kudos to the everyone on the team for making that happen!). We reviewed the first game and had a blast with it, so needless to say we’re happy that Xbox One players get to play the sequel.

One unique feature of the Guacameelee! 2 Xbox One release is that it will be an Xbox Play Anywhere title meaning those that buy the game will own both the Xbox One and Windows 10 versions of the game. Worried about having different Guacameelee! 2 save files for Xbox One and Windows 10? Fear not, luchador, the title will also support cross-saves between both versions, which will let players transfer their saves between both platforms.

Guacamelee! 2 is currently available on PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC. See what it’s like to take on the role of the almighty luchador Juan by checking out the Xbox One launch trailer below:

Author’s Take: I think everyone needs to play the Guacameelee! series. If you have an Xbox One and haven’t played Guacameelee! 2, I highly recommend you get the game.
