Gris Channels Some Deep Emotions in Switch and PC Reveal Trailer

Devolver Digital released the debut trailer for the Nomada Studio developed adventure Gris, coming to Nintendo Switch and PC in 2018.

The trailer shows off the game’s stunning visuals which exhibit impressive 2D animations that I personally wasn’t expecting. As the viewer, I had to watch the trailer twice in an attempt to grasp all the feelings that the game was attempting convey through this girls quest.

Players will assume the role of Gris, a young girl who finds herself lost in her own world of sorrow and distress as she deals with a painful experience. In order to get around, a strange power has manifested inside of her dress, which grants her new abilities and allows her to push through these troubled experiences. As the story progresses, Gris will begin to see her world in a different way and will be able to explore new areas as she gains new skills.

In Gris there is no real danger or death screen. Players will be able to explore the world through light puzzle and platforming as they take in Gris’ story and understand her feelings.

Author’s take: I stumbled across this game just this morning, but looking deeper into the developer and team creating it has me extremely excited to get my hands on this adventure. Reminiscent of games like Journey, Gris has casual gameplay mixed into a world that begs to be explored and I see no better time for this type of game than now.
