2D Action Game ‘Grim Guardians: Demon Purge’ Confirms Physical Release; February Launch on PS4, PS5, and PC

PQube announced they will publish the Inti Creates-developed 2D action game Grim Guardians: Demon Purge. The game will launch digitally on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 on February 23, 2023, followed by a physical release on those platforms and Nintendo Switch in Spring 2023.

Further, a Collectors Edition will be made available in Early Summer 2023. The game will also release on PC via Steam on February 23, 2023.

A set of 5 ‘Grim Guardians: Demon Purge’ stickers

Grim Guardians: Demon Purge tells the story of two demon hunters named Shinobu Kamizono and Maya Kamizono, who rise up to challenge the demon castle that appeared where their school used to be. During gameplay, players will switch between the two characters on the fly to access their unique abilities. This mechanic is crucial for taking on platforming sections and boss encounters.

Fans of Inti Creates will know these characters as the stars of Gal*Gun: Double Peace. Further, enemies from the series will also appear in this new title.

Further, the game features a 2-players co-op mode where players can play simultaneously. There are also various difficulty options called the “Style System,” but players can expect a challenge for veteran players. The game mirrors classic Castlevania entries.

In terms of characters, Shinobu Kamizono utilizes long-ranged attacks, while Maya Kamizono is a close-ranged brawler. Players will need to consider the situation when choosing which sister to control as they make their way through the castle, investigating the mystery of what happened to their school and its students.
