Game Arts has announced that the classic PlayStation 1 and Sega Saturn JRPG, Grandia, is now available for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 via PSN. It costs $9.99 as a standalone purchase and is also part of PlayStation Plus’ November Game Catalog for Premium tier subscribers.
It’s also worth noting that this release just seems to be a port with enhancements and isn’t the HD re-release seen on Nintendo Switch and PC.
UPDATE: This release is confirmed to be using original textures and sprites.
Grandia tells the story of Justin, who is out exploring the ruins of an Angelou Civilization. Upon arriving, he is requested to travel east and find out the secret of why this ancient civilization disappeared. The game was developed by Game Arts, the developer of the Lunar series, and features a turn-based battle system and classic RPG storytelling. Players can anticipate over 80 hours of gameplay, 80 magic spells and techniques, and over 200 weapons and items.
