Cygames has opened pre-orders for the Nintendo Switch 2 version of Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising, launching on September 17, 2026. The Switch 2 release will arrive as a Legendary Edition priced at $49.99 and includes previously released downloadable content alongside several new features.
Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising on Switch 2 will include all 40 playable characters available through the Legendary Edition, including Id. The package also includes the Deluxe Character Pass Part 1 and Part 2 content, additional character colors and weapon skins, the Canaan Shrine stage, premium avatars, and costumes for Gran and Djeeta.
Pre-orders and early purchases will also include Sandalphon’s Reverent Attire costume. The bonus will remain available until January 12, 2027, at 6:59 AM PT, and will be sold separately afterward.
The Switch 2 version will introduce Gyro Versus, an exclusive mode that lets players perform attacks and combos by shaking a Joy-Con or Joy-Con 2. The mode is limited to Versus Mode and is intended as an alternate way to play local matches.
Version 2.60 will launch on the same day and add two new mechanics across supported platforms. Chain Attacks provide additional combo opportunities, while Super Ultimate+ introduces a separate control scheme featuring powered-up versions of characters that exceed their standard battle capabilities.
PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Steam players will also receive Chain Attacks and Super Ultimate+ through the September 17 update. The Legendary Edition is additionally planned for those platforms, while the Additional Character Set featuring Id will be sold separately.
The Nintendo Switch 2 version supports local communication for nearby matches without an internet connection. Cross-play is also included for Ranked and Casual matches, as well as the Grand Bruise! party mode.
The team also detailed save-data bonuses for players who link Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising with Granblue Fantasy: Relink – Endless Ragnarok on the same platform.
Rewards in Rising include Id’s Premium Sword weapon skin, additional color variants, Lyria and Id lobby avatars, special card designs, an Id system voice, and the trophy “I’ve Been an Id Main Since Day 1.”
