Gearbox released a new gameplay trailer for the Counterplay Games-developed action-adventure Godfall, coming to PlayStation 5 and PC-via the Epic Games Store in holiday 2020.
The video gives players a first look at the in-development PC gameplay as viewers are walked through the world of Aperion, a world that is on the precipice of ruin. Players will assume the role of the last of the Valorian knights. This group of warriors is able to equip special armor known as Valorplates, which transforms the wielders into powerful masters of melee combat. In gameplay, players can tear through hordes of enemies as they climb through each of the elemental realms and challenge the mad god, Macros, who awaits players at the top.
Godfall attempts to blend looter-slasher action with RPG elements in a high-fantasy RPG setting.
On their website, Counterplay Games describes Godfall as a “loot-driven action RPG with third-person real-time melee combat that better played with friends.” The game is being written by Hugo Nebula, award winner, an honor that is given by the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America. The engine of choice for the next generation title is Unreal 4.
