On the latest PlayStation Blog post detailing the PlayStation 4 2018 of God of War making its way to PC early next year, Sony revealed that the title had sold over 19.55 million units as of August 2021. This monumental success is part of what has led Santa Monica Studio and Sony to expand the availability of this modern classic so more gamers who don’t have access to a PlayStation 4 can experience it.
Congratulations to Santa Monica Studio for achieving this truly noteworthy feat.
You can read more information regarding the upcoming PC release of this game and the announcement of the sold copies via PlayStation Blog’s official post. This version will boast several customizable options and graphical optimizations such as an authentic 4K resolution experience supported by an unlocked framerate, NVIDIA Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS) integration, and 21:9 ultra-widescreen support.
This title occurs before the highly anticipated God of War Ragnarök, which follows Kratos and Atreus on their quest to stop Ragnarök. Santa Monica Studio teased a trailer at the last PlayStation Showcase showcasing some exhilarating cinematics and gameplay. However, Santa Monica Studio explained earlier this year that the long-awaited sequel would be delayed until next year.
As a result, there is no official release date yet, but God of War Ragnarök will be released in 2022 for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
