God Eater 3 Shows Early 2019 Western Release in New Gameplay Trailer

Bandai Namco is taking their time with releasing new information about their upcoming creature-hunting action game God Eater 3, coming to PlayStation 4 and PC in the west in early 2019.

Along with the western release window, the publisher launched a new gameplay trailer that includes the story as well as gameplay elements. Players will assume the role of a prisoner who is forced to take the AGE test where he will be equipped with a powerful weapon, a God Arc. The trailer reveals that the prisoner belongs to an operation known as “Port”.

Players will once again face powerful Aragami as they fight to save the human race. There seems to a lot of political backstories that will most definitely be revealed closer to the game’s release date. As of now, we know that there are separate groups fighting in competition with the Port soldiers, one of which who seemed to be mentioned is the “Crimson Queen”.

Gameplay is also shown which gives players a preview of the updated visuals and mechanics of the series. However, weapon customization is not shown, which is a popular feature amongst fans of the series.

You can watch the new trailer below:

Author’s take: God Eater was my first “Monster Hunter-like” game so I find myself attached to this series more than any others like it. I wasn’t a fan of the last entry due to hardware limitations and the lack of Aragami types. However, God Eater 3 seems to be pushing the series in the right direction.
