D3 Publisher revealed they’ll be publishing Gleamlight, which is to be a 2D action-adventure game in development for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC for a 2020 release.
The description of the game states, “This is a story of light – of Gleam, in a world of glass stained in darkness.” However, not much more is known outside of the game is fairly dark and sad. Also, the game’s development staff includes members of the team who worked on Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night.
It should be noted that many gamers are calling the game a “Hollow Knight ripoff.” To that, we say, “Nothing wrong with more Hollow Knight!”
The publisher released the first trailer for the project which gives viewers a nice look at the game’s world which is made up of shimmering mosaic pieces. However, in all this beauty there are also pretty dangerous enemies that players will need to fight against. Gameplay seems to also include light platforming and using abilities to traverse the game’s world. The main protagonist stands out in the mostly blue world by wearing all red, including a hat and cape to complete the outfit.
We’ll be sure to keep an eye out for more news about the title and share any additional information with you as it is released.
