Ghost Story Games’ ‘Judas’ Gets Full Reveal; Looks Like Bioshock
Ken Levine’s studio Ghost Story Games (previously Irrational Games) premiered a full trailer for their upcoming game Judas at The Game Awards 2022.
Having long been rumored to be in development, Ghost Story Games’ project was rumored to have fallen into development hell after being in progress for nearly a decade due to the project being rebooted several times. Still, the title (again, called Judas) has now been fully announced with a narrative trailer. It depicts a “ship” of some kind that has been left in ruins and a variety of vibrant and esoteric characters in a setting reminiscent of Rapture, the iconic city of the original two Bioshock titles, also both from Irrational.
The main character is able to use some kind of bio-engineered superpower, again similar to Bioshock, though no release date was given. Ghost Story Games’ rebranding was intended to indicate a new direction for the company to create more “emergent and narrative” experiences, so fans can expect this title to be heavily inspired by Levine’s games.
“We founded Ghost Story Games to build upon the legacy of System Shock 2, BioShock, and BioShock Infinite,” said Ken Levine, President & Creative Director. “With Judas, we’ve created an entirely new world and set of characters while exploring different approaches to single-player, narrative first-person shooters.”
Judas will be self-published by Ghost Story Games and will launch on the PS5, Xbox Series X and S, and PC on both Steam and Epic. No release date has been given yet.
