Genshin Impact Teases New Character, Yae Miko; Over 300K Likes In Less Than 24 Hours

Genshin Impact has set yet another astounding record on social media. Developer miHoYo revealed a brief look at one of the new characters that should be coming in the Version Update after 2.4. This time, they revealed none other than the sly and astute Yae Miko, who oversees Inazuma’s Narukami Shrine and is also the main priestess.

It seems that this culminated in the most liked post of their social media yet, with over 300,000 likes in less than 24 hours. To put that metric into perspective, when Arataki Itto was first unveiled, his post hit 250,000 likes in 24 hours. It’s also worth mentioning that her post pales compared to Raiden Shogun, the female character whose banner struck gold for the developers, with her hitting a little over HALF of what Yae Miko hit.

However, it’s hard to say whether this amount of reception towards Yae Miko will translate into actual sales since although Arataki Itto got more likes than Raiden Shogun, his banner sold far worse than her. Now, this data source only accounts for the Chinese players on iOS. Still, given that it was determined that most of Genshin Impact’s revenue comes from the players in China, it’s fair to assume that this is quite the solid lead when it comes to just how popular a character is.

It will surely be interesting to see just how much revenue Yae Miko’s banner will bring in Version 2.5 since Version 2.4 already brings back popular characters such as Xiao, Zhongli, and even Ganyu.

Genshin Impact is a free-to-play open-world action RPG that brings players to the visually stunning world of Teyvat. The player takes on the role of the mysterious “Traveler,” who sets off on a journey to discover the fate of their lost sibling and unveils the mysterious secrets of Teyvat along the way.

The newest Version 2.4 update for Genshin Impact will be available on January 5, 2022, for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, iOS, and Android, with a pre-load data option available now for PC users. (14 GB of free storage is required.)
