HoYoverse has just announced the latest Version Update for Genshin Impact during the Genshin Impact Special Program. Version 4.3, titled Roses and Muskets, will be releasing on December 20, 2023 and will be adding a brand-new event, and two new characters to the roster.
After solving the major crisis of Fontaine, the story in Version 4.3 will take a bit of a slower approach, and will instead celebrate one of Fontaine’s most important traditions, the Fontinalia Festival. This festival, which the residents of Fontaine are always looking forward to, will not only feature joyful and fun festivities but will also honor the tradition of commemorating the legendary Lochknights, who welcomed the previous Hydro Archon, Egeria, to Fontaine.
Under the leadership of Furina, an unexpected team composed of the Kamisato siblings, the Traveler and the renowned fashion designer of the Chioriya Boutique, Chiori, will come together to work on a short film. Furthermore, the Fontinalia Festival will also offer a series of mini-games, such as designing a short film with different camera angles and narrations in the Into the Frame minigame, as well as shooting training in a marksmanship-themed gameplay mode. By playing these minigames, players can earn Theater Tickets and exchange them for various festive rewards, including the 4-star Ultimate Overlord’s Mega Magic Sword claymore.
Amid this festive atmosphere, two new characters will be joining the cast of playable characters. First, we have Navia, the president of Spina di Rosula. She is a 5-star Geo claymore wielder, is capable of firing Rosula Shardshots from her elegant yet lethal gunbrella. The number of shots is determined by her Crystal Shrapnel charges, which are accumulated either by obtaining Elemental Shards from Crystallize reactions or her Elemental Burst. Navia’s Elemental Burst also deals solid AOE Geo damage by bombarding her enemies.
We also have Chevreuse, will join the team as a new 4-star Pyro polearm. As captain of the Special Security and Surveillance Patrol, Chevreuse can fire bullets with her musket that deal AoE Pyro damage. For a limited time after she uses her Elemental skill, she will heal the currently active character. She can provide more firepower with an explosive grenade, which can split into multiple secondary explosive shells on impact. Navia will be available in the first half of Version 4.3’s Event Wishes, alongside a rerun banner for Kamisato Ayaka, and Raiden Shogun and Yoimiya will both return as reprint banners in the second half of Version 4.3, with Chevreuse also debuting during the second half as a rate-up 4-star unit.
Version 4.3 will also see some quality of life improvements to some permanent gameplay modes and limited-time events will also be updated with new features and rewards. For instance, the Genius Invokation TCG mode will receive a major update with more cards, NPCs that can be challenged, and a limited time Heated Battle Mode. Furthermore, a Fontaine-style realm layout will be available inside the Serenitea Pot. Furthermore, the Arataki Blazing Armor Bettle Battle Boot Camp and the Lost Riches event will both make a return in Version 4.3, allowing players to obtain many rewards.
Two new artifact sets will be introduced in Version 4.3: Song of Days Past and Nighttime Whispers in the Echoing Woods. Both of these will be obtainable from the new Domains in Version 4.3, with information about their effects to be revealed at a later date. Furthermore, a new one-click function will soon be released, which allows players to batch collect rewards from expeditions as well as repeat them, as well as collect processed ingredients and forged items.
With so many Artifact Sets now available, the developer also announced a feature that allows players will also be able to lock or unlock Artifacts in batches, as well as automatically lock existing or new Artifacts that match the filter specifications. Additionally, players will also be able to see how other active players choose Artifact Sets for a given character via the Artifact Set Recommendations screen.
Genshin Impact’s Version 4.3 will be arriving on December 20 for Android, iOS, PC, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. You can watch the Version 4.3 Special Program below:
