Genshin Impact Version 3.8 Update Launching Early July 2023; New Limited-Time Area & Outfits

During the Version 3.8 Special Program, developer HoYoverse revealed the details of the twenty-fifth Version Update for Genshin Impact, titled Secret Summer Paradise, arriving soon on July 5, 2023. In this update, players will explore a brand-new limited-time area full of new open-world gameplay, summer attractions, and bountiful rewards. Furthermore, the developer also showed a brand-new sneak peek of Fontaine, which will be coming in the next major update for Genshin Impact.

Consisting of high hills, forested valleys, dark caves, and a myriad of amusement facilities, a brand-new area called the Veluriyam Mirage awaits visitors this summer in Teyvat. Players may fully explore the Mirage with two open-world game modes: the Choo-Choo Cart that ferries passengers throughout the area with exciting roller-coastering experiences, or the Preprint mode that teleports people into a two-dimensional world to unlock hidden puzzles and treasures.

As players explore this area, they can collect Joyeux Vouchers to redeem various rewards, including Kaeya’s new outfit. Klee will also get a brand-new outfit, which will be available to purchase through the in-game Store. Once the event ends, if you were unable to claim Kaeya’s outfit, you will be able to purchase it from the next Version Update and onwards.

Four summer special events and attractions can also be found across the Veluriyam Mirage. These amusements offer more bonuses, which include the chance to recruit Layla for free. In Spino Blaster, players play a water cannon shooting game, and the Dance of Flashing Thought provides more combat challenges with different features. Participants can also control a little Barking Fox and take part in an aerial speed race in the Sojourns of the Barking Fox event, or try their hand at a revamped shuffle-board game in the Bing-Bang Finchball event.

Next up, we have Version 3.8’s Event Wishes. The first phase will feature a rerun of Eula’s Born of Ocean Swell banner and Klee’s Sparkling Steps banner, while the second phase will feature Sangonomiya Kokomi’s Drifting Luminescence and Wanderer’s From Ashes Reborn banner. The Weapon banner will be updated with their preferred weapons accordingly. Furthermore, Kaeya will be receiving his very own Hangout Event, so players can learn more about him.

But we cannot forget the last thing from the Special Program. HoYoverse showcased a brief sneak peek of the Nation of Justice, Fontaine, showing several of its locations, as well as gameplay footage of the Traveler swimming underwater. The narrator actually mentioned a location name during the reveal, and the name sounded distinctly French, so it seems Fontaine will take some inspiration from France.
