Genshin Impact Introduces Version 3.1 Update; Late September 2022 Launch
Developer HoYoverse livestreamed a Special Program revealing the details of the 3.1 Version Update for Genshin Impact, titled King Deshret, and the Three Magi. This update will not only add new events to celebrate the game’s second anniversary, but it will also introduce a brand-new area within Sumeru. The eighteenth Version Update will make its way on September 28, the same day the title completes a full two years since its release.
This time, in contrast to the tropical rainforest, players will be exploring the harsh desert of Sumeru, which has a stark, dangerous beauty. In the heart of the desert stands the majestic Mausoleum of King Deshret and dungeons full of puzzles, mechanisms, and robotic guardians powered by ancient technologies of the perished god and his ancient civilization. Furthermore, the desert is also home to Aaru Village, the largest settlement of the desert people, a safe harbor for exiled scholars, and a wealth of information.
Meanwhile, three Sumeru characters: Cyno, Nilou, and Candance, will all be available to be recruited as reliable allies in players’ teams. First, the trustworthy General Mahamatra Cyno is also ready for combat as a five-star Electro polearm wielder. Then, we have Nilou, the 5-star Hydro dancer whom we meet in the 3.0 Archon Quest, and finally, the half-blood descendant of King Deshret, Candance. Cyno will be available in the first phase of Version 3.1 alongside Venti, while Nilou’s banner will come in the second phase alongside Albedo.
To further enhance player experience, Version 3.1 will include a few new features, including dynamic terrain deformation and a solution to better simulate realistic trails on the sand. In addition, DualSense Controller support will be added to enable vibration feedback when characters cast their Elemental Burst when playing on PlayStation 5.
Two mechanical monstrosities will debut as new Boss Enemies, powered by unknown technologies. The Algorithm of Semi-Intransient Matrix of Overseer Network is the leader of the mechanics guarding the Mausoleum of King Deshret, and it can become invisible in combat. Another new Boss Enemy, Aeonblight Drake, will challenge players in the rainforest with distinct attack patterns.
Lastly, Genshin Impact will be celebrating its second anniversary on September 28! To celebrate, the city of Mondstadt will hold the annual Weinlesefest, where players will have a chance to reunite with friends in Mondstadt and help Razor uncover more about his past. The festival also features a major limited-time seasonal event and four different mini-games.
Players can redeem various rewards, including a new four-star weapon, Missive Windspear, along with its exclusive refinement materials, by obtaining Festive Fever through mini-games. Additionally, the daily login event is back, with up to 10 Intertwined Fates, 1,600 Primogens, 4 Fragile Resin, and two unique gadgets, “Jumpy Dumpty Party Popper” and “Cloud Retainer’s Damasked Device,” will be delivered to all players via the in-game mail.
Genshin Impact is a free-to-play open-world action RPG that brings players to the visually stunning world of Teyvat. The player takes on the role of the mysterious “Traveler,” who sets off on a journey to discover the fate of their lost sibling and unveils the mysterious secrets of Teyvat along the way.
Starting from Version 3.0, players can explore Sumeru, as well as Mondstadt, Liyue Harbor, and Inazuma, three of the seven major cities in Teyvat, each with unique cultures, stories, and vast surrounding landscapes, and offering a diversity of creatures, monsters, secrets, and hidden treasures for players to discover.
