Genshin Impact Version 2.6 Releasing Later This Month; New Quest & Character Details Revealed at Special Program

Developer HoYoverse announced today in their Special Program that Genshin Impact‘s Version 2.6 update, “Zephyr of the Violet Garden,” will be arriving on March 30, 2022. This update will include a brand-new area located at the westernmost of Liyue, the Chasm and players can also visit Inazuma on the other side of the sea to meet the newest five-star character Kamisato Ayato, and celebrate the magnificent Irodori Festival with new attractions.

The new area consists of a distinct violet-red area with an unfathomably deep space underground. The area has been closed due to a series of mysterious accidents and is now overrun by monsters, Treasure Hoarders, and the Fatui. Deep down, players will also come face-to-face with a new boss enemy: the Ruin Serpent, as well as other unknown dangers from the Abyss.

Meanwhile, across the sea, Inazuma is hard at work at preparing the Magnificent Irodori Festival, a festival that welcomes talents and guests all across Teyvat. Organized by the Yashiro Commission and Yae Miko, this year’s Irodori Festival will invite Venti, Xingqiu, and many old acquaintances to celebrate a time of arts and culture. If you manage to go through all of the events, you can also recruit Xingqiu for free.

Players will also meet Kamisato Ayato, the young but highly accomplished head of the Yashiro Commission’s Kamisato Clan, as he will make his debut as the newest five-star character during Version 2.6. Ayato wields a sword and holds the Hydro Vision. He can unleash immense Hydro damage in a short amount of time, and is capable of increasing the effects of his party’s Normal Attacks. The Anemo Archon Venti, as well as his sister Ayaka, will also return in reprint banners that players can Wish on starting on March 30th.
