Genshin Impact Developer Has “Some Plans” Regarding Next-Gen Consoles

Genshin Impact has taken the gaming community by storm with its adventurous world and colorful characters.

Genshin Impact is a free-to-play open-world action RPG where you will play as a young protagonist known as the traveler. During gameplay, players will be able to explore and climb various buildings and locations, and battle monsters around the game’s open world.

As the game prepares for its PlayStation 4, PC, and mobile release on September 28, we thought its time to look a bit towards the future as we approach a new console generation.

In a conversation with the developers, we asked about a possible next-gen release to which the developer, miHoYo, replied, “We have some plans regarding next-gen consoles, and we will be announcing them as these plans take shape.” Which is a pretty sure sign that we may get this adventure on one or both of the new consoles.

It should be noted that it is a free-to-play game, but many of the game’s features are tied to a log-in. It’s unclear if that long in will allow you to carry your game across devices, but with a game that supports cross-platform online play, it’s assumed this is possible.

We’ll release the full interview with the developers soon.

In case you missed it, check out our preview of the game’s final closed beta, where we play more of the game on PS4. You can also check out the Switch trailer for the game, along with new details about the game’s world.
