Genshin Impact KFC Glider Coming West; Time to Channel Our Hunger, Fellow Gamers
Well…okay. I certainly did not see this coming. Just now, developer miHoYo unveiled the latest campaign coming to Genshin Impact, titled Adventurers’ Guild on Twitch.
The campaign aims to give the coveted Wings of Feasting, a unique skin for the wind glider. Previously, this skin was only available on Version 1.4 and ONLY in the title’s Celestia server, which could only be accessed in China. The campaign required players to go to an eligible KFC store, purchase a collaboration food item, and in the receipt, a redemption code for the skin would be printed as a bonus. At the time, the developer stated that the glider was only available in China, with the Western servers (Asia, America, and Europe) obtaining the glider in an upcoming event. It seems this is that “upcoming event.”
To obtain the redeem code for the glider, players must log in to their Twitch accounts. During the event period, developer miHoYo will release a list of partnered channels that will count towards the campaign. Players must either purchase a Tier 1 Subscription to two of those channels; or gift a single channel two Tier 1 subscriptions.
It should be noted that the Prime Free Sub, the free month that comes with users who have an active Amazon Prime subscription, will not count towards this total. Furthermore, if the user is already a recurring subscriber, renewing the sub will also not count.
Upon redeeming the code, players will obtain the following items: Wings of Feasting ×1, Mora ×30,000, Jade Parcels ×1, Tonkotsu Ramen ×2, Sautéed Matsutake ×2. So in many ways, you’re basically paying 10 bucks for a glider. …Okay, I guess?
Genshin Impact is a free-to-play open-world action RPG that brings players to the visually stunning world of Teyvat. The player takes on the role of the mysterious “Traveler,” who sets off on a journey to discover the fate of their lost sibling and unveils the mysterious secrets of Teyvat along the way.
Version 2.3 will be available for download on PS4 and PS5 from the PlayStation Store, Android from Google Play, iOS from the App Store, and PC from Epic Games Store or the Genshin Impact official website. In addition, a pre-load feature will be coming soon for PC users, and we will keep you updated in regards to that.
