GDC Summer Dates Announced for August; Three Days Only
Informa Tech announced that GDC has new dates this year, following the postponed March event after concerns rose amidst the Coronavirus outbreak. Now, the organizer announced the new dates of GDC Summer 2020, scheduled for August 4 through August 6, 2020, at the Moscone Center in San Francisco.
GDC Summer will take place in hopes of bringing the gaming development community together after concerns about the virus outbreak. Safety will be a significant concern at the showcase, and the team will continue to monitor the situation with half officials to ensure that the new dates won’t be affected. Still, they are prepared to postpone again if the situation doesn’t improve.
Those interested in attending the event can also check out the new community partnership program. This will allow organizations to apply for space onsite to host meetings and to gather alongside the main event. The qualifying organization could include SIG meetings, non-profit board meetings, local meet-ups, hosted “office hours” by community professionals, portfolio review rooms, and podcast recording. This will allow a new group of individuals the chance to experience GDC due to space restrictions in the past.
We’ll be sure to keep you updated on the news from GDC and who will be attending the event as we get closer to the date.
