Adorable Retro Metroidvania ‘Gato Roboto’ Gets Switch and PC Release Date With New Trailer

Devolver Digital and announced that the Doinksoft developed retro Metroidvania Gato Roboto will launch on Nintendo Switch and PC on May 30.

Gato Roboto allows players to assume the role of an everyday armored mech cat as they trek through an alien underworld filled with tough enemies and challenges.

During gameplay, players will need to find their way through various obstacles that require some skill as well as abilities to get through. There are also bosses met throughout the labyrinth that players will need to take down in order to progress. However, it wouldn’t be wise to use up the cat’s nine lives, I didn’t mean for that to rhyme, oh no, I keep doing it!

Anyway, the game features a retro pixel design with some pretty interesting enemy designs overall. I’m not sure how the Metroidvania systems come into play since some of the levels seem to be running away from something, but that makes it all the more interesting. Of course, you can’t deny how cute the idea of a mech cat would be so it seems like a nice title to look further into.
