XSEED Games and Marvelous Europe have been sharing character portraits and profiles for their upcoming localized release of the FuRyu-developed action JRPG, Trinity Trigger. We have compiled every shared profile and portrait and will update this article with any other showcases made.
Trinity Trigger features a star-studded group of RPG developers, including worldbuilding artist Yuki Nobuteru (Trials of Mana), character designer Raita Kazama (Xenoblade), scenario writer Yura Kubota (Octopath Traveler), and composer Hiroki Kikuta (Secret of Mana, Trials of Mana).
Once upon a time, the Gods of Chaos and Order fought for dominance, spanning the heavens and the continent of Trinitia. After these conflicts almost destroy the mortal world, fearsome weapons known as Arma become embedded within the ground. Soon after this occurrence, the Gods’ direct battle ends, and people instead choose representative factions to fight in as God Warriors.
The protagonist, Cyan, is a Warrior of Chaos. With a seemingly destined grim end, he sets out with two companions, Elise and Zantis, who guide him on a journey to defy the gods and save the world. Players will traverse the towers of Arma, made from the Gods’ fallen weapons. They comprise several dungeons and puzzles, with local cooperative play also possible.
Additionally, many biomes will be explorable, including forests, deserts, and snowfields, with each having numerous secrets to uncover. The on-the-fly swappable weapon types via the Weapon Wheel allow for continual strategy no matter which foe is being faced.
UPDATE 4/14/2023: XSEED Games has updated the title’s official website, including the voice cast. We have edited the following profiles with said voice actors.
The gallery of characters is viewable below:
Flamme (Lisa Reimold) – With no recollection of his life before the war, Flamme found himself aimlessly wandering the Gladius Arma–until he crossed paths with the Warrior of Chaos. Now teamed with Cyan, Flamme hopes to uncover his past…whatever it holds.
Cyan Elreius (Xander Mobus) – Marked by the Emblem of Chaos, was chosen at birth as a representative in a war between gods.
Oise (Caitlyn Elizabeth)- Summoned by Elise, the water Trigger Oise has a vast knowledge of Trinitia. With that deep understanding of the world, Oise is invaluable as a mentor to Cyan, who is still learning about the realm outside Woodroost.
Elise Quois (Melissa Hutchison) – The followers of Libras have their own goal in this war, but something compelled Elise to go against her temple, and be the first to come to Cyan’s aid.
Rai (Erica Mendez) – Always making Zantis the butt of his jokes, Rai does his best to keep the morale up with his electrifying personality.
Zantis Gheldyne (Ricco Fajardo) – Despite being an Oracle of Solius, the Sun God, Zantis received a “divine revelation” imploring him to save Cyan. Final member to join Cyan’s journey.
Lime Verte (Lizzie Freeman) – Lime is the Manafacturer every Scavenger wishes to work with. If she’s not busy running the Verte Workshop, Lime’s likely searching for rare minerals to craft into Manatite that provide a big boost to customers willing to pay her price
Firn (Dani Chambers) – Firn grew up with Cyan after her father took him in as part of the family until both parents succumbed to illness.
Violet (Amber Lee Connors) – Known as the Knight Princess of the Kingdom of Stahl, Violet trained her entire life to fulfill her role as the Warrior of Order. The only God Warrior to wield two Triggers.
Umbra – Not much is known of Umbra, the second Trigger commanded by Violet. Together with Lux, they can combine to form light and dark elemental dual blades.
Lux – Violet’s first Trigger endowed with the element of light, was summoned to defeat the Warrior of Chaos.
Nero (Patrick Seitz) – The Varna, a race identified by the jewel on their foreheads, are known for an incident involving past God Warriors. Hunts down Cyan despite being a Guardian and Varna.
Noire (Dawn M. Bennett) – Behind the imposing black helm and robes, Noire’s loyalty to Violet never wavers. She’ll do anything to help the princess, and wields a mighty axe to sway those who doubt her faithfulness.
Glaive Silvestern (Joe Hernandez) – Leads the Halberd Knights, the strongest soldiers in the Kingdom of Stahl. Is indebted to Cyan’s father.
King Balt (Keith Silverstein) – Stahl Kingdom’s king, a man stricken with guilt from a decision made nearly two decades ago. Every leader has made tough decisions, but will Balt be able to atone for his?
Ahter (Brandon Winckler) – A well-spoken, mysterious young man who wields powerful magic, worked his way up to the status of Guardian and now acts as King Balt’s council and messenger.
Coeur De Gris (Adin Rudd) – Leader of the Diamond Wings, a band of thieves hoping to exact revenge on Stahl for events that took place long ago. As a fellow enemy of Stahl, Cyan could find a powerful ally with Gris.
Coeur De Rosa (Lauren Landa) – The glue that holds the Diamond Wings together. If not for her keeping Gris in check, they would have fallen to Stahl in no time.
Ionia Simmons (Kirk Thornton) – All who follow the Sun God know of Zantis. Ionia, a fellow Oracle of Solius, can be found tending the graveyard of Stahl and would surely lend aid to Cyan if he knew Zantis was accompanying him.
Kratelle (Laura Post) – The followers of the Temple of Harmony do not support the gods of Order nor Chaos. Instead, the Grand Oracle Kratelle calls upon the wisdom of Libras to protect Trinitia.
Trinity Trigger will launch on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam in North America on April 25, 2023. This release date is almost a month before the EU release date scheduled for May 16, 2023.
