Frostpoint VR: Proving Grounds Launches Open Beta With “Play-to-Own” Initiative
Thirdverse and inXile Entertainment have launched the open beta for their team-based multiplayer shooter, Frostpoin VR: Proving Grounds for Oculus Rift, HTC Vive VR, and Valve Index headsets. Players can download through Steam or Oculus now.
The open beta period will last from September 28 through October 19. Players who participate can earn a free copy of the retail game through a Play-to-Own campaign by meeting milestones and connect to their Steam or Oculus accounts.
In Frostpoin VR: Proving Grounds, players are matched in a 10v10 multiplayer arena where players need to coordinate with their teams to win. The game requires strategy and a few tactics to be effetiant in the multiplayer modes, which include capture and control elements. The level has players explore an abandoned military base in Antartica, where players will also have to fight against biomechanical creatures along with other players.
During the closed beta beta on Steam, players will be able to wield pistols and rifles, realistically holding each with one or two hands to load, rack, and fire away at enemies. During the open beta test, players will be able to engage with more weapons and tools to round out their arsenal, new enemies, two new maps and a new game mode (‘Attack and Defend’).
Frostpoint VR: Proving Grounds is planned for global release in ten languages in 2020 on Oculus Rift, HTC Vive VR, and Valve Index headsets.
