XSEED Games and Galaxy Trail have announced that Freedom Planet 2 has been delayed to Spring 2024. The title was initially planned to launch for these additional platforms sometime this year.
You can view the companies’ message to fans below:
“Together with our partners at Galaxy Trail, we have made the decision to move the launch window for Freedom Planet 2 on the Nintendo Switch, Playstation 4, Playstation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S to Spring 2024.
It’s important to all of us that players have the same high-quality experience the PC version currently offers — as well as new and exciting features yet to be revealed. To that end, we’re going to take a bit more time to ensure we can deliver the best possible version of this fast-paced platforming adventure.
Thank you for your patience and excitement so far! We know you’re eager to return to Avalice, and we can’t wait to share more information in the new year.”
Freedom Planet 2 has players explore the realm of Avalice. Following the events of Freedom Planet, the trio of familiar protagonists has honed their distinct abilities, enhancing their prowess significantly. Players can now take full advantage of Lilac’s swiftness through her Dragon Boost, discover new heights using Carol’s Jump Disc or motorcycle, or opt for a more tactical approach with Milla’s shield.
Adding to the mix is the new playable character Neera, who wields her Frost Arts to take out enemies. In line with its forerunner, this dynamic combat-oriented platformer empowers you to approach each stage according to your preferences. Skillfully blending velocity and exploration and featuring enhanced character sprites within its 2D visuals, Freedom Planet 2 builds upon the elements that transformed the original into a contemporary classic.
We’ll keep you updated on the development and release of Freedom Planet 2. The game is currently available on PC via Steam.
