Four Much Anticipated Trails Games Leaked for Western Localization on PC

In an unexpected twist of fate, 4 games part of the Nihon Falcom developed Trails series have been leaked for an NIS America western localization on PC via the Epic Games Store. The 4 leaked titles are The Legend of Heroes: Trails from Zero, The Legend of Heroes: Trails to Azure, The Legend of Nayuta: Boundless Trails, and The Legend of Heroes: Trails into Reverie.

This news comes from a leak before the highly anticipated New Game Plus Expo Falcom Anniversary live stream event scheduled for tonight. Each of these titles has remained Japanese exclusive for some time. Let’s briefly go through their importance.

The Legend of Heroes: Trails from Zero is the first game of the Crossbell duology, which takes place after the Trails in the Sky saga, and The Legend of Heroes: Trails to Azure is the sequel to Zero. These games were initially released on the PSP exclusively in Japan. Still, they then received updated re-releases on PS Vita dubbed ‘Evolution’ which came with full voice acting and more content. However, they would then get another set of re-releases, this time for PlayStation 4, dubbed the ‘Kai’ versions. It is currently unknown which release of the games is currently listed on the Epic Games Store, but we will likely be finding out tonight.

The Legend of Heroes: Trails from Zero is listed as coming to the Epic Games Store in Fall 2002.

The Legend of Heroes: Trails to Azure is listed as coming to the Epic Games Store with a broad release window of 2023.

The Legend of Nayuta: Boundless Trails is a spinoff title initially released in Japan exclusively on PSP, but it then received an updated iteration dubbed the ‘Kai’ version released for PlayStation 4 in Japan rather recently. Unlike the standard Trails games, Nayuta is an action-based adventure. It is unknown which edition will be localized.

The Legend of Nayuta: Boundless Trails is listed as coming to the Epic Games Store with a broad release window of 2023.

Lastly, The Legend of Heroes: Trails into Reverie is the latest mainline entry of the Trails series, taking place after the recently localized The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel IV. This entry is notably unique for its 3 unique story arcs that can be switched to interchangeably during certain gameplay sections. Rean, the protagonist of the Cold Steel saga, Lloyd, the protagonist of the Crossbell duology, and C, an unknown third party, are the leaders of these 3 arcs.

The Legend of Heroes: Trails into Reverie is listed as coming to the Epic Games Store with a broad release window of 2023.

We will assuredly be learning more about these upcoming localizations during the Falcom Anniversary stream tonight. One note to keep in mind is that these are the PC release windows, and since the console versions tend to release sooner, the same philosophy may apply here. This is purely speculation, though, and we will have to wait and see.
