Forspoken In Tanta We Trust DLC Reveals New Combat Abilities

Square Enix and Luminous Productions have shared a few new gameplay details regarding the upcoming DLC for their action-adventure game, Forspoken, In Tanta We Trust. As previously revealed, Frey will be accompanied by the Tanta Cinta as the former finds herself at the Purge of the Rheddig.

The following are some of the new techniques players can anticipate:

  • Skewer – a support spell that fires a beam of magic straight ahead that has a chance of crystallizing enemies
  • Shock – this unleashes a wave of magical enemies that can also crystallize your foes
  • Allied Strike – Team up with Tanta Cinta to unleash a devastating volley of piercing bullets at enemies ahead

As for what Cinta herself will do, aside from being quite powerful, she’ll be able to summon a shield when her health reaches critical levels, enabling a continual offense even in the face of peril.

The Forspoken In Tanta We Trust DLC will launch on May 26, 2023.

This prequel story occurs 25 years before the base game. Following the ending of Forspoken, as protagonist Frey Holland is seeking to eradicate the Break phenomenon that continues to wreak havoc across the land of Athia, an unknown voice guides her to an area that transports her to the infamous Purge of the Rheddig, which is the event that caused the Tantas to lose control of themselves. Frey will team up with Tanta Cinta and wield new abilities to save Athia and perhaps even herself in the process.

FORSPOKEN DLC TANTA ART 1x1

Forspoken follows Frey as she enters Athia for the first time after being transported from New York City. She then discovers a magical, sentient bracelet has wrapped around her arm. With her new companion, named “Cuff,” Frey navigates the mysterious and sprawling landscapes of Athia in her search for a way home. Forspoken has been designed specifically for the PlayStation 5 and takes advantage of the console to create a game that feels like an authentic next-gen experience.

In the world of Forspoken, the last remaining bastion of the Athians is Cipal, where the protagonist, Frey, can interact with citizens following the strife that has led to this scenario, the Break. Quests can be accepted, and trading can occur within this area that functions as the game’s hub area. Pilgrim’s Refuges can be found throughout the world as well, where one can partake in crafting and upgrading.

Frey can parkour around the map, providing cathartic movement, one of the prominent factors for the title’s identity. Belfries can be found as points of interest to get a better lay of the land. Combat comprises magic ranging in type coupled with traps that can meld with all sorts of skills to create devastating effects.

Forspoken is now available on PlayStation 5 and PC.
