Foamstars Announces Open Beta Party; Full Game Coming Early 2024

Square Enix has announced that their upcoming competitive shooter, Foamstars, will be holding an Open Beta test from September 29 to October 1 (PST), allowing players to  join the foam-blasting frenzy in the new 4v4 party shooter, as you blast through battles using foam to attack, build and defend. The full game is also confirmed to release in Early 2024 for PlayStation 4 and 5, though this Open Beta will be only be for PS5.

During the Open Beta, there will be two modes to play:

• Smash the Star: After knocking out seven enemy players, the best player on the opposing team will be chosen as the “Star Player.” Win by knocking out the opposing team’s Star Player. Protecting your team’s Star Player may result in a comeback!
• Happy Bath Survival: A battle where two players are placed in the arena, and two out of the arena. Knock out the opponents in the arena to win! The battle will continue until one team’s two combatants are knocked out. Players out of the arena can support their allies and also obstruct the other team. There is a maximum of three rounds, and the team to get two wins will be crowned the victors.

Furthermore, eight characters will be playable during the beta: Soa, ΔGITO, Tonix, Jet Justice, Mel T, The Baristador, Rave Breaker, and Pen Gwyn. New screenshots were also revealed, which you can view in our gallery below:

In Foamstars, foam is the ultimate resource. It can be used in multiple ways: To create slippery surfaces that players can use to surf around the arena at high speed; to build terrain, helping players defend from enemy attacks or creating high vantage points to take out opponents; and finally, to foam up the opposition and win the match.
