Strange Space Roguelite ‘Fission Superstar X’ Set to Launch in Spring

Québec-based indie developer Turbo Pelvis 3000 inc. have announced that their strange space roguelite game Fission Superstar X is now set to launch in Spring 2019 for $14.99 on Xbox One and PC. Originally, Fission Superstar X was going to release this month, but the developer has decided to take a bit more time polishing the game so it can be the best superstar it can be.

Fission Superstar X will have you touring a wacky version of the solar system as you ride on a ship with a nuclear bomb created by the mad “scientist” Dr. Leopold.  Dr. Leopold wants to make the bomb famous, but folks in the game aren’t the biggest fans of the bomb and are trying to destroy it, so it’ll be up to you to make sure the bomb doesn’t, well, blow up. You’ll be facing impossible odds trying to achieve Dr. Leopold’s dream.

The game will be rich with content as it’ll feature nine unlockable ships to soar through space with, over 100 different crew members from humans to space bears to recruit, 64 different weapons both mundane and insane to blast baddies away with, over 20 different environments to explore, and over 70 different enemy types to take down, including scavengers, fascist space cats, and giant insects.

Throughout the game, players will need to quickly decide whether to fight up-close and personal or far and away while dodging and blocking attacks with a shield. Ship management will play a huge role as well as assembling the perfect crew and installing the best weapons will make things easier. However, not all decisions will be easy to make since players will often need to choose between repairing their ship, taking care of crew members, or upgrading stats.

Since this is a roguelite game, expect to die a lot.

Author’s take: I wonder if there really are any nuclear bombs up in space? I’m sure there are, which is kinda scary to think about. Anyways, this game looks like it’ll be fun. 🙂
