Firegirl: Hack ‘n Splash Rescue DX Coming to Consoles Later This Month; An Updated Version of the Roguelite Platformer

Thunderful Publishing announced the Dejima-developed firefighting game Firegirl: Hack’ n Splash Rescue DX will launch on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Nintendo Switch on June 22, 2022.

The DX version of the game is an updated release that features a rebalanced version of the game, which was released on PC last year. Players will find new enemies, reworked environments, a rebalanced difficulty curve, a streamlined upgrade tree, and an improved level design.

The updated version will arrive on the PC version the same day as the console release.

“The original release of Firegirl on PC gave us invaluable feedback on how we could improve the experience significantly ahead of a console release,” said Julien Ribassin, founder of Dejima. “With the completely reworked and rebalanced version of the game that is Firegirl: Hack ‘n Splash Rescue DX, we’ve kept everything that was great about the original version and reworked the wrinkles to provide a definitive version of the game. Look forward to it on June 22nd.”

Firegirl: Hack’ n Splash Rescue has players take on the role of a firefighter who is tasked with running a local fire station. To improve the station, players will set out, fight fires, and grow the staff. Each staff member added brings some kind of bonus to the station to improve the next venture out into the flames.
