Fire Emblem Engage Introduces the Princess of Awakening, Lucina

The official Japanese Fire Emblem Twitter account has been introducing new characters for the recently announced Fire Emblem Engage, alongside sharing new gameplay clips. Today, the emblem iteration of Lucina was formally introduced.

Lucina is a character originating from Fire Emblem Awakening, a princess who embraces hope above all else. In combat, she thrives both offensively and defensively when in allies’ vicinity. For instance, her Syncro Skill lets any unit cooperatively attack (Chain Attack) regardless of their Class, with further ranged units benefitting the most.

Her Engage Weapon deals significant damage to the Calvary and Armored kind. Further, her Engage Skill can entirely negate all damage directed toward nearby allies, with Martial Arts users’ success rate being guaranteed. Lastly, her Engage Attack enables Chain Attacks for all allied units within a two-tile radius.

Lucina has received one conversation clip and a tweet thread detailing her capabilities:

Fire Emblem Engage is releasing for Nintendo Switch on January 20, 2023.

This game follows the new protagonist Alear after their mother, Lumiere, seemingly perishes and imparts them with the mission of utilizing special rings to bring peace to the world.

These rings summon notable heroes from other Fire Emblem titles, including fan favorites such as Lyn, Corrin, Marth, and Byleth. And aside from granting evident gameplay benefits and alterations, they also converse with the new Engage characters, acting as vehicles for potential growth.
