Fire Emblem Engage Introduces Thracia Protagonist, Leif

The official Japanese Fire Emblem Twitter account has been introducing new characters for the recently announced Fire Emblem Engage, alongside sharing new gameplay clips. Today, the Emblem iteration of Leif was introduced.

Leif is the protagonist of Fire Emblem: Thracia 776 is a courageous prince descended from two Crusaders. As an Emblem, he’s offensively adaptable, boasting several weapons for various circumstances. If the user has the weapon affinity advantage in an encounter, Leif’s Syncro Skill will decrease taken damage.

Next, his Engage Weapon has high chances of performing critical hits, and his Engage Skill will alter the user’s weapon to an affinity advantage if struck by an enemy. However, ranged attacks will result in a weapon swap emphasizing counterattacks above all else. Lastly, Leif’s Engage Attack deals multiple hits with a considerable chance of breaking a foe, though Martial Arts have a guaranteed chance of causing the effect.

Fire Emblem Engage is releasing for Nintendo Switch on January 20, 2023.

This game follows the new protagonist Alear after their mother, Lumiere, seemingly perishes and imparts them with the mission of utilizing special rings to bring peace to the world.

These rings summon notable heroes from other Fire Emblem titles, including fan favorites such as Lyn, Corrin, Marth, and Byleth. And aside from granting evident gameplay benefits and alterations, they also converse with the new Engage characters, acting as vehicles for potential growth.
