Final Fantasy XVI Producer Says Game Will be “Action-Oriented” But Will Feature Easier Gameplay Modes
Square Enix is having a busy 2021, but that doesn’t stop Final Fantasy XVI producer Naoki Yoshida from appearing on various shows to talk about game development. During a segment known as Dream Hack on an episode of a Tokyo FM radio show called One Morning, he spilled the beans about a few Final Fantasy XVI features.
For starters, Yoshida-san shared that Final Fantasy XVI will be “quite action-oriented,” and the game will be an entry of the series that blends story and action. The game will also feature a mode where players can decrease the action difficulty and just enjoy the story. This mode is for those who don’t prefer action games.
Yoshida-san mentioned that the main theme of the game will focus on the hardships of being an adult. It’s for those who have grown up with the series, which will affect the game’s tone.
Final Fantasy XVI will take players to the world where civilians fear and love the powerful creatures known as Eikons. However, a single man or woman is blessed with the ability to call upon their power. Players will meet Clive Rosfield, a young man who trains to be a soldier and is dubbed the FIrst Shield of Rosaria and tasked to guard his younger brother Joshua, the Dominant of the Phoenix. However, Clive finds himself in a dark and dangerous quest full of themes of revenge.
