Final Fantasy XV Director Hajime Tabata’s JP Game Studio Working on Two New RPG Titles

Recently, the Japanese website Gamestalk mentioned that Hajime Tabata, the Final Fantasy XV director, is working on two new titles under his studio JP GAMES. Not much is known about those games, except the following points:

About the first game:

  • It is already past its pre-production phase.
  • It’s an experimental title that is an evolved version of Final Fantasy Type-0.
  • It’s a fast-paced RPG.
  • It’s a challenging title to develop because of the complications of shortening an RPG’s playable time.
  • The game will be concise but will offer additional replayability through multiplayer modes.

About the second game:

  • It was only pitched so far and hasn’t started development.
  • It’s a AAA game with a vast world.
  • Essentially an evolved version of Final Fantasy XV.
  • It’s a “nomadic” RPG where its main focus is on the free exploration of the world.

No other information was given, aside from those bullet points. We will keep you updated on these 2 upcoming games.

Final Fantasy Type-0 is a Final Fantasy spinoff that was released for PlayStation 4 and PC with action combat and a diverse cast. It grew a cult following, though it did not do critically well. Final Fantasy XV needs no introduction and is well known for Tabata’s directorial position after Nomura left the project.
