Square Enix released new details about their upcoming expansion to their popular MMORPG titled Final Fantasy XIV: Shadowbringers, coming to PlayStation 4 and PC on July 2.
In a new Letter from the Producer stream, new details emerged that give players an idea of what they can expect from the title. New key characters will make their debut in the game’s story campaign include Thancred and Y’shtola who join the Warrior of Light as they encounter new characters such as Ran’jit and Vauthry.
Additionally, crafting class will receive some updates with features like new action and adjustments that ease the requirements to unlock existing recipes. Gathering classes have also received new updates including spawn time information and the ability to quickly add an alarm to remind players of spawning nodes.
New system-related updates include an update to the achievement UI and new tomestone and gathering scripts with the addition of a new world, Spriggan World to the Chaos data center and Twintania World to the Light data center.
The team has also revealed post-launch update schedules and details:
- July 16, 2019: Patch 5.01 – Launch of the normal difficulty high-level raid, Eden.
- July 30, 2019: Patch 5.05 – Launch of the savage difficulty Eden raid and the new treasure hunt dungeon, Lyhe Ghiahl; release of the Allagan tomestone of Phantasmagoria currency.
