Final Fantasy XIV Reveals Patch 6.57 Notes; Removal of Instanced Areas & Tomestone Cap Increase

Square Enix has just released the official patch notes of Version 6.57 of their MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV. This patch addresses several bugs that have been found from the recently announced XBOX Series version, as well as some changes to the limit cap of certain contents of the game. Below is a quick summary on what players can expect from Patch 6.57:

  • The Weekly cap of Allagan Tomestones of Comedy has been doubled from 450 to 900. Note that the maximum amount you can hold remains at 2000.
  • Pandæmonium: Anabaseios (Savage): Treasure coffers will now always appear, with no reduction of rewards, regardless of whether any party members have previously cleared the circle. Furthermore, the weekly restriction on rewards obtained from treasure coffers has been removed, and Players will now receive the power of the Echo during the quest.
  • The amount of Allagan Tomestones of Comedy that players can obtain by completing 1 Line in Khloe Aliapoh’s Wondrous Tails has been increased from 50 to 300.
  • The instanced areas for Thavnair, Radz-at-Han and Old Sharlayan have all been removed.
  • A Realm Reborn: More Vesper Bay Aetheryte Tickets will be given at certain quests.
  • The Endwalker Alliance Raid Thaleia has been added to the Alliance Raid Roulette.
  • When certain visions are in progress in the Island Sanctuary, players will now be able to speak with the Felicitous Furball to receive hints about how they may be realized.
  • The amount of data required to win the Fields of Glory (Shatter) PvP mode has been decreased from 2,000 to 1,600. Furthermore, the amount of data gained from defeating a member of an opposing team has been increased from 5 to 8.
  • Several bugs were fixed, and minor text issues were addressed.

The developer has also revealed further details in regards to the XBOX Series beta that will be held on February 21, 2024. The Xbox Series X|S version will single sign-on (SSO) authentication, meaning once you have linked your Microsoft account and Square Enix accounts  together, you can skip the login process and launch the game directly. Furthermore, XBOX players’ gamertag and icon will be displayed to fellow Xbox Series X|S players across several UI windows, and players you’ve played together with will appear in the Recently Played friends list.

The new expansion in Dawntrail will take us across the western seas to a land named Tural. Tural is less developed than most countries we have visited, but this doesn’t mean it is uninhabited. The land is ruled by a two-headed Mamool Ja named Gulool Ja Ja. The expansion will focus on a contest for the rights to his throne inside the major city of Tuliyollal. This contest will consist of finding the fabled City of Gold, which will see the Scions racing across Tural in search of it.

Final Fantasy XIV is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and PC, with an Xbox port planned for Spring 2024.
