Final Fantasy XIV Patch 5.5 Trailer Details Conclusion of NieR-Collaboration

Square Enix has released a new trailer focused on the upcoming release of Final Fantasy XIV Patch 5.5, coming on April 13, 2021.

The trailer highlights the patch title “Death Unto Dawn,” which will be split into two parts and sets the stage for the upcoming fourth expansion, Endwalker. The first part will launch on April 13 and will introduce the third and final chapter of YoRHa: Dark Apocalypse, the NieR collaboration from guest creators Yosuke Saito and Yoko Taro. This first part also introduces new story and battle content.

We also learned a little more about the PlayStation 5 version that is set to launch on April 13. In addition to previously announced upgrades, which included framerate improvements, faster load times, and 4K resolution support, this new release will also include DualSense haptic feedback, new trophies, and 3D audio support.

PlayStation 4 players can upgrade their license to the PS5 version at no cost for the open beta. New players can play the PS5 version through the Free Trial version.

Final Fantasy XIV Patch 5.5 is scheduled to release on Playstation 4 and PC on April 13, 2021.
