Final Fantasy XIV Patch 6.5 Growing Light Launching October 2023; Patch 6.55 Early January 2024
During the Final Fantasy XIV Letter from the Producer Part LXXIX livestream, which was held from Square Enix’s booth at Tokyo Game Show 2023, Naoki Yoshida and Toshio Murouchi revealed that the latest content patch, Patch 6.5 “Growing Light,” will be releasing on October 3, 2023, adding the first part of the final Post-Endwalker main scenario story quests, as well as an assortment of quality of life improvements.
This date also means that the ongoing Moogle Treasure Trove event will end at that same time, so if you haven’t obtained the rewards you liked from the shop, now is an excellent time to get what you need.
First, the main thing to look forward to is the continuation of the main story scenario, which, in these two parts, will set the stage for the upcoming Summer 2024 major expansion, Dawntrail. But in addition to that, Myths of the Realm, Part 3: Thaleia of the Endwalker Alliance Series, will be added alongside the Unreal difficulty for the Singularity Reactor.
Among the quality of life improvements, we have Duty Support being added to the final three Post-Stormblood dungeons (Drowned City of Skalla, the Burn, and the Ghimlyt Dark). And speaking of Stormblood, both the Free Trial and Starter Edition will add the expansion at no additional cost. Great, it’s time to update the famous copypasta.
New Custom Deliveries and the ability to store optional items in the Armoire will be added. For the avid Fishing Warriors of Light, a green dot indicator will appear on top of any new fish you log into your Fish Guide. Furthermore, EXP and Allagan Tomestone rewards will be adjusted in accordance with the time required for completion and difficulty.

The Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail Expansion was announced for Summer 2024.
This time, the new expansion in Dawntrail will take us across the western seas to a land named Tural. Tural is less developed than most countries we have visited, but this doesn’t mean it is uninhabited. The land is ruled by a two-headed Mamool Ja named Gulool Ja Ja.
The expansion will focus on a contest for the rights to his throne inside the major city of Tuliyollal. This contest will consist of finding the fabled City of Gold, which will see the Scions racing across Tural in search of it.
Final Fantasy XIV is currently available via PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC (via Steam or via Square Enix’s website).
