Final Fantasy XIV Free Trials Available Again

Square Enix has announced that Final Fantasy XIV free trials are now available for PlayStation and PC users. The free trials were temporarily discontinued late last year due to intense server congestion and several technical complications.

It’s fantastic to see this generous service reopen for prospective players to dive back into this critically acclaimed MMORPG.

Back in December, free trial players were “unable to log in outside of late night and early morning hours,” and no new free trial registrations were possible. Despite suspending sales for new players, Yoshida emphasized that patches will roll out as expected unless any significant issues unfold in development. The primary reason cited is that delaying the patch would require the team to rebalance items and gear stats, which would delay subsequent patches.

Last month, the Oceania data center launched alongside patch 6.08. Home World transfers were made available on January 26, with this center’s five new worlds offering benefits for those who choose to do so.

Some of the more vital bonuses are listed below:

  • Free Home World Transfer for players transferring from another World
  • Double EXP for both newly created and transferred characters (up to Level 80)
  • Gold and Silver Chocobo Feathers exchangeable for special in-game rewards
