Final Fantasy XIV Dawntrail Expansion Adding 2 Dyes Per Gear, Eyeglasses & Furnishing Limit Increase
During the latest Final Fantasy XIV Fan Festival that introduced the incoming Summer 2024 Dawntrail expansion, several gameplay, story, and system updates were announced and elucidated.
Of the lattermost, player customization will receive significant overhauls. Notably, players will be able to apply two dyes to all armor pieces, but this implementation will arrive in ways for each gear type. Additionally, eyeglasses are finally being added and will be equippable alongside headgear.
Lastly, fans can anticipate a Furnishing Limit increase at some point in the 7.0 patch cycle, but details regarding the extent of this collective expansion were not yet shared.

Final Fantasy XIV is currently available via PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC. Patch 6.4, “The Dark Throne,” launched in May 2023. The game was confirmed to release for Xbox in Spring 2024.
The Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail Expansion was announced for Summer 2024.
Dawntrail is currently scheduled for release in Summer 2024. The delay was expected due to the previous announcement before Endwalker‘s release that the COVID-19 pandemic had permanently slowed down the game’s release cycle.
Not much was revealed immediately due to the length of time before the release, but we already know that it will be accompanied by a major graphical update to the entire game, which is sorely needed given that the game just celebrated its ten-year anniversary since being relaunched as Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn.
