The most notable change to this released version is the build it houses, Virtuos, the same build used for Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster and Final Fantasy XII The Zodiac Age. This alteration was shared by a user on resetera. The Game Pass version also boasts an updated launcher interface, showing that at least some modicum of effort was poured into this port.
With this recent release, my hope for a PlayStation 4/PlayStation 5 collection of the Final Fantasy XII trilogy has heightened considerably. I consider those games to be not the absolutely most underrated Final Fantasy titles, but definitely up there. Also, developers and publishers never have to listen to their fans, but I feel like I have been seeing strong yearning for a Final Fantasy XIII collection on modern consoles for the past 5 years.
The further we get from the initial releases of the Final Fantasy XIII games, the stronger that demand will become, and I do legitimately believe those requests will be realized soon. Still, for now, at least Xbox Game Pass owners can enjoy this updated release.
