Square Enix Shares Official Guitar Cover of “Besaid Island” from Final Fantasy X

Square Enix has uploaded a new official cover on their music YouTube channel. Toru Tabei arranged and performed “Besaid Island” from Final Fantasy X on guitar, initially composed by Masashi Hamauzu. Additionally, Mai Kondo recorded and mixed the performance.

This is the first explorable town of the game, and it gives off a relatively calming aura that sets the tone for an unseemingly tragic journey.

A piano cover of “Fleeting Dream” from the same game was shared last year.

Final Fantasy X was the first PlayStation 2 entry for the franchise. It featured full voice acting, countless side activities, a content-filled postgame, and much more. An updated release, dubbed the International version, would remain Japanese-exclusive until localized ports later arrived.

In the first title, the protagonist, Tidus, is whisked away from the nightlife world of Zanarkand to a more rustic setting known as Spira. He ends up having to discover the truth of the connection between Zanarkand and Spira, as well as his own place in it all. Final Fantasy X-2 is a bold sequel taking place after the first game’s events, offering what is arguably one of the best JRPG combat systems ever made.

Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster is currently available on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC via Steam.
