Final Fantasy VIII Remastered Launches on iOS and Android Devices

Square Enix has launched Final Fantasy VIII Remastered on iOS and Android in the west for $20.99. The title is currently on sale for $16.99 until April 4 on both storefronts.

This mobile version requires 2.59GB to download. The developer also notes some issues with the version, such as entering or leaving vehicles may get your character stuck when in proximity to solid terrain. Currently, the only fix is to reload save data, so they request you save often. Further, some locations are difficult to navigate using the Speed Boost x3 option; the developer encourages that you turn this off.

Other than that, you’re free to enjoy the adventure from start to finish. The graphics appear similar to other console releases and is great for those who didn’t play on the Switch.

In Final Fantasy VIII, the military nation of Galbadia has declared war on the Dukedom of Dollet, who must hire the mercenary force, SeeD. Players play as Squall Leonhart, a new member of SeeD, together with his friends, and Rinoa Heartilly, a member of a resistance group, gets pulled into the war. It’s from then on; the players embark on an epic quest to save the world.
