While the Final Fantasy VII voice actors being recast for the Remake is not new information, there has been uncertainty amongst some fans regarding characters we have yet to hear, including one Vincent Valentine.
Recently, a fan asked the original voice actor of Vincent, Steve Blum, who assumed the role for Advent Children and Dirge of Cerberus, whether he’d return for the upcoming Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. And Blum’s response was simply, “They recast us all. Sorry.”
Once again, this is to be expected, but we are hearing this straight from a horse’s mouth and not just from Square Enix collectively. Further, this comment will assuredly reinforce skepticism for certain crowds. Then again, those individuals would likely be hard-pressed to play the Remake project anyway.
Personally, I have faith in the team getting another excellent voice for Vincent. I’ve been a fan of every VA’s performance so far, except Zack’s, to varying extents.
Regardless, you can view Steve Blum’s recent comment pertaining to Final Fantasy VII Rebirth below:
They recast us all. Sorry.
