Final Fantasy VII The First Soldier Launches FFVII Classic Collab With New Trailer; It’s Kinda Scary Looking

Square Enix has launched the collaboration between their battle royal Final Fantasy VII The First Soldier and classic Final Fantasy VII.

The event is available from February 16, 2022, to February 28, 2022, and features polygon versions of Final Fantasy VII characters including, Cloud, Tifa, Barret, and Aerith. Additionally, there’s a classic Chocobo that players can ride throughout the event. From the trailer released, this looks pretty scary. Interestingly, the characters had battle sprites in the original PS1 game, but the team opted to use the less detailed polygon versions for effect. It definitely stands out on the battlefield.

Final Fantasy VII The First Soldier is a battle royale that takes place in several locations around Midgar. Players are tasked with being the last member of SOLDIER standing and will have a host of abilities to keep them in the fight long enough.

There are several classes to choose from, including Warrior, Sorcerer, or Mong, each with different abilities and skills that prove helpful during tense situations. Players will also need to fight against monsters around the city to gain the necessary experience to level up and unlock new weapons.

Final Fantasy VII The First Soldier also features classic gameplay elements such as ridable Chocobos, espers, and even summon Materia, including Ifrit. Customization options allow players to alter their characters’ outfits and accessories to stand out on the battlefield. Further, there will be ways to obtain weapons and vehicle skins.
