Final Fantasy VII Remake Surpasses 3.5 Million in Sales Worldwide in Three Days

Square Enix announced that their iconic return to a classic JRPG, Final Fantasy VII Remake, has sold 3.5 million copies worldwide with combined digital and physical sales in three days.

The game released exclusively to PlayStation 4 on April 10 and is an updated version of Final Fantasy VII, initially released on the PlayStation. This release only covers one part of the game, which is the town of Midgar. The developer plans to release future installments that aim to conclude the story.

Final Fantasy VII Remake will tell the story of a corrupted world fallen under the control of the Shinra Electric Power Company, a shadowy corporation controlling the planet’s very life force as Mako Energy.

In the sprawling city of Midgar, an anti-Shinra organization calling themselves Avalanche have stepped up their resistance. Cloud Strife, a former member of Shinra’s elite SOLDIER unit now turned mercenary, lends his aid to the group, and throughout the story, goes on epic adventures with an unforgettable cast of characters.
