Final Fantasy VII Remake Shows Chocobo, Battles, and Mini-Games in New Screenshots

Square Enix revealed new screenshots from their upcoming JRPG Final Fantasy VII Remake, via the PlayStation Blog.

The publisher shared new information about the game including how players will be able to equip unique weapons to characters that have their own abilities and stats. When an ability reaches the max level, that ability is learned by the wielder and can be with any weapon. The screenshots show Cloud’s Buster Sword upgrade screen and the different options that players will have.

We also see a preview of the difficulty options. By selecting Classic party members will act automatically, with the ATB gauges filling up as normal. In this mode, players will select which abilities, magic, and items they will use, which makes the game feel more like the original Final Fantasy VII.

Additionally, players will be able to summon the help of creatures like Chocobo & Moogle, who use their move Stampede. Summons can be used once the summon gauge fills up. Also, players can enjoy mini-games such as darts while visiting the bar Seventh Heaven.

Final Fantasy VII Remake will tell the story of a corrupted world fallen under the control of the Shinra Electric Power Company, a shadowy corporation controlling the planet’s very life force as Mako Energy. In the sprawling city of Midgar, an anti-Shinra organization calling themselves Avalanche have stepped up their resistance. Cloud Strife, a former member of Shinra’s elite SOLDIER unit now turned mercenary, lends his aid to the group, and throughout the story, goes on epic adventures with an unforgettable cast of characters.

Final Fantasy VII Remake is coming to PlayStation 4 on March 3, 2020.
