Final Fantasy VII Anniversary Merchandise Includes NFT Cards
Square Enix has announced new Final Fantasy VII merchandise that, unfortunately, includes NFTs. Titled the “Final Fantasy VII Anniversary Art Museum Digital Card Plus,” 207 illustrations depicting various characters and iconic events from Final Fantasy VII are contained within this package.
Specifically, there are six physical cards per pack alongside an NFT variation of the purchaser’s choice. Further, a purchase will provide customers with 20 card packs, also meaning that access to 20 NFT collectible cards is granted.
The fully listed card inclusions are listed below:
- 99 x Normal Cards
- 99 x Premium foil cards
- 3 x Variant normal cards
- 3 x Variant premium foil cards
- 3 x Secret Cards
Square Enix North America and Europe have this art museum of cards available for purchase for $79.80 and €79.99, respectively, with the former regional storefront detailing an expected March 2023 shipment.
Thanks to the outlet Siliconera for sharing this information.

Sadly this is far from the first time Square Enix has promoted NFTs, let alone for Final Fantasy VII. Aside from their questionable NFT project called Symbiogenesis, a Cloud Strife figure from last year included an NFT certificate.
With Square Enix President Yosuke Matsuda stepping down in the near future, these actions will hopefully stop entirely, but that is far from a much-needed certainty.
