Final Fantasy Resonance Reveals Sephiroth in New Trailer, Free Demo Launches Today With Save Data Transfer

Square Enix has unveiled a new trailer for its upcoming HD-2D turn-based RPG Final Fantasy Resonance, introducing Sephiroth in battle. Additionally, a demo will be available today.

The demo features the game’s first chapter, and players will be able to carry over their saved data to the full release.

Final Fantasy Resonance is the first entry in the series to be in HD-2D. As an adaptation of Brave Exvius, it follows a group of companions as they investigate a force threatening the land. Familiar series elements, including crystals, airships, espers, and moogles, will appear.

Combat uses a turn-based system centered on exploiting enemy weaknesses. Attacking vulnerabilities can stagger opponents, break their defenses, and provide additional turns. Players can also use Resonance attacks during battle. The party can receive support from Visions, manifestations of characters from across the Final Fantasy series.

Final Fantasy Resonance will be released on October 22, 2026, for Switch, Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and the Microsoft Store.
