Square Enix announced that pre-orders are now open for Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered, on PlayStation 4.
Those who pre-order the game via the PlayStation Store will receive a free Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered theme. There is currently no physical release planned in the west.
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered is a remastered version of the Nintendo Gameplay Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles, released in 2004. The title will add improvements to the game’s visuals and mechanics. One of which is the addition of online multiplayer that will support up to four players, in this mode, players will be able to take control of a character and roam free around the battlefield to take actions and assist the other players. Additionally, this mode will allow crossplay between platforms and will feature an optional cross-save functionality.
Other additions to this version of the game include new post-game content such as tougher bosses and new dungeons along with new skins for each of the characters. Players will be able to also enjoy new character audio as well as new theme songs.
Additionally, players can access the game for free with the Lite Edition, which allows them to play online together through three dungeons. However, if one person owns the game, the Lite players can still join them in 13 missions.
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered is coming to PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and iOS/Android on August 27.
