FIFA 20 Brings Football From the Field to the Streets in Volta Mode

EA released new details for a new mode included in their football title, FIFA 20, coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on September 27.

Volta Football is a new mode built on top of the traditional FIFA gameplay engine that offers players a new way to experience the game. The mode itself can be further customized to add varying circumstances and rule combinations to change the experience whenever the player wants. The reason for this mode is to bring the key element of street football to life and offer players a way to experience it through the eyes of their own created player.

Volta Football includes its own story mode where players will be able to create a character and help them on their journey through various locations including Tokyo, Amsterdam, New York, Cape Town, Mexico City, Rome, and Paris. There is also a Volta League mode where players can match up with other online to get into a higher division.

Playing through the mode is a little different than what players will find in the traditional football mode. Given that the field is smaller, players will need to utilize the walls of the course to their advantage. This game mode is definitely exciting as players will have to switch from offensive to defensive positioning on the fly.

Like other modes in FIFA 20, players will be able to complete goals in order to unlock new clothes and items. We are not sure if this will have a paid component to it at this, but we do know that some items are locked behind completing goals.
