Fatal Fury: First Contact Releases on Switch with Launch Trailer

SNK Corporation has announced that Fatal Fury: First Contact is now available on Nintendo Switch via the eShop for $7.99.

You can watch the launch trailer for this title below:

This title was originally released in 1999 and is heavily based on the arcade fighter Real Bout Fatal Fury 2. Heralded as a NeoGeo Pocket Color Selection Classic, this title lets players battle in Southtown with franchise favorites like Terry Bogard, Geese Howard, Mai Shiranui, as well as newcomers Rick Strowd and Li Xiangfei. Players can also take control of the Dominated Mind protagonist and Real Bout Fatal Fury 2, Alfred.

A comeback mechanic known as Potential Power allows players to unleash an ultra-lethal special move at the brink of death. That mechanic alongside single lane rings gives newcomers some tools to lean on as they learn the intricate mechanics’ ins and outs.

The Nintendo Switch’s docked, and handheld states are both said to be ideal forms of play for this title.

There is a special video message regarding Fatal Fury: First Contact and King of Fighters XV from SNK Producer Yasuyuki Oda, which you can view below:

Several SNK titles are being made available on Nintendo Switch via the NeoGeo Pocket Color Selection initiative.

Fatal Fury: First Contact, The Last Blade: Beyond the Destiny, King of Fighters R-2, Samurai Shodown! 2, and SNK Gals’ Fighters are all available, with more titles coming in the future.
